America is not an ideal, only a country

America is not an ideal, only a country created by God for His will and purposes. We have forgotten this to our peril.

The USA is not some beacon of light beckoning all to come and live in a land of freedom where all their dreams will come true. How many times have you heard this in political speeches?

The fact is, America is nothing but one of many nations God has created. Therefore, this country, for lack of a better term, is an empire that has its appointed time.

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, 27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. —Acts 17:26-27

The purpose of nations during their allotted times is for the people or the nation to find God. He uses all nations for His will and purposes.

Now, God is removing the veil of illusion that politicians have preached to us about how America is all things to all people. The fact is America is only as good as the people running it.

The same goes for other global nations. God has laid bare the corruption affecting governments worldwide. The people are seeing the evil now brought to the surface of their governments.

Sound stewards equal just government. Corrupt opportunists equal unjust government. People in major western nations are realizing their governments hate them.

Our leaders say “God Bless America,” but is it sincere, or just the closing of a speech? Do they believe it in their hearts, or is it to fool the rubes?

I always get a kick when certain presidents–who hate the country as founded, or are on the take–sanctimoniously preach about our shared American values. This is the go-to schtick to justify what was formerly abhorrent or illegal.

I say America is not an ideal, only a country, not to degrade ,but because I love this land God has given us. We have to sober up.

For too long, we’ve ignored God’s laws because of our intoxication with hedonism and wealth. How can we expect to neglect God’s moral precepts and not expect the same rebellion, on the part of political leaders, to statutory law?

Without adherence to, and enforcement of laws, America is speeding to to chaos, tyranny and ultimately, destruction.

It’s ironic, but freedom can only exist under the law. Chaos breeds lawlessness, therefore, lawlessness leads to subjugation.

The reality is, America is slowly descending into strife and must change course. A country is in serious trouble when the law is turned against the law-abiding.That’s the reality, and all the flowery language about “what America stands for” is empty rhetoric.

America’s storied history will not save us from the predicament we find ourselves in. Only with God can the people turn this country around. That begins with humility, repentance, and seeking His face through prayer.

Remember, America is a created thing, a blessing from God. Let us resolve from this day forward no longer to make an idol of the country or the ideal.

America is nothing more than a land our Heavenly Father has blessed us to live in. It cannot inspire or encourage; only God can do so.

Too many Americans worship the country and fit God into it instead of the other way around. I believe the current corruption dominating domestic and global politics is a consequence of this.

More people are realizing how bad things have gotten and want a change to what was before. The question is what do they want to go back to: complacency and affluence, or a nation under God?

People should, by all means, love this country, but they must love God more. He is the only source of freedom and liberty for the United States of America. The Founding Fathers knew this… the problem is most Americans have forgotten.

WOW!
Outstanding article. As I read and understood it, I smiled, no pointing of fingers to right or left, just truth as a whole. It hits at the crux of what ails us as a nation. A nation that has forgotten GOD and HIS commandments and principles of what life is and how we are to walk in our brief journey as sojourners. We, like other western nations, as it relates to this specific chain/cord of sin, have become idolators. Our god is as stated, plus one; hedonism, affluence, and most of all SELF (by any means necessary). Most speak of being in alignment with GOD when it serves their agenda. Their actions and walk are clearly antithetical to the teachings and instructions of the GOD they proclaim to believe in and walk with. If your leaders are corrupt will not the nation become corrupt?

There is one word that stood out for me (REPENTANCE) we as a nation need repentance. This comes from acknowledging our sins and having a SINCERE faith in Jesus Christ, demonstrated not only by words but deeds, in obedience to His commandments, bearing fruit unto repentance. Sincere faith in Christ and repentance goes together, there cannot be one without the other. When in line with each other, the Holy Spirit pours out His grace that brings about full and complete repentance; opening our eyes, giving us an unveiled understanding of the spiritual; thus, transforming our hearts. As James states “Faith without works is dead. Show me your faith without your works and I will so my faith by my works” (2:17-18). But we as a nation and a people don’t want to hear of repentance. That would mean forsaking the god of self. And when self is forsaken, all other gods must follow suit.

Good article!
