Democracy is one of those words you hear and think, freedom. The reality of present day context is anything but. This is a great compilation of what lies behind the sky-is-falling rhetoric of what democracy really means to Democrats .
I highly recommend saving this and sharing it widely.
Keep in mind the United States of America was founded as a Constitutional Republic. Some have even called our form of government a representative republic. The point is, the Founders hated democracy because of its propensity for tyranny.

James Madison discussed the dangers of democracy in the Federalist Papers #10 . Here is an excerpt.
Hence it is, that such democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security, or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives, as they have been violent in their deaths. Theoretic politicians, who have patronized this species of government, have erroneously supposed, that by reducing mankind to a perfect equality in their political rights, they would, at the same time, be perfectly equalized, and assimilated in their possessions, their opinions, and their passions.
Read the first part again, “(Democracies) have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property.” Aren’t we living this today? I encourage you to read Federalist #10 in its entirety because Madison, under the pseudonym Publius, not only explains the snares of democracy but brilliantly illustrates the benefits and stability of a republic.
On a closing note, it galls me when I hear prominent conservatives saying America needs to protect or safeguard democracy. We, the people, need to correct these pundits and politicians, whenever possible, that the USA was and is a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.
