All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech.–Proverbs 8:13 (New Living Translation)

Fear God… hate evil. Recently, I wrote about praying for our enemies because God commands us to love them. Yet, please understand, these prayers do not mean condoning wickedness.
Because we love God and He hates evil, therefore we are to hate evil. We are not to rationalize evil, nor compromise with it.
O God, you take no pleasure in wickedness;
you cannot tolerate the sins of the wicked.
Therefore, the proud may not stand in your presence,
for you hate all who do evil.
You will destroy those who tell lies.
The Lord detests murderers and deceivers.–Psalm 5:4-6 (NLT)
God wants us to hate evil because nothing beneficial comes from it, only harm. There is no beauty to evil, only ugliness , destruction and death. Here’s a spiritual truth: A mind seared with evil despises the good.

God is good and everything He created is good. Unbelievers hate goodness, therefore they hate the creation. Have you ever considered that?
Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!
And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.–Genesis 1:31

Everything in God’s creation is good, from the sun, to the weather, to the oil in the ground, to the miracle of life. Yet certain people want you to fear and loathe these things.
For instance, we’re told the sun is dangerous, so we should cover ourselves in sunblock out of fear of skin cancer. Yet the sun is the best source of Vitamin D which strengthens immunity.
Unbelievers stoke fears of climate change and offer solutions to “fight” it with the removal of petroleum . Petroleum, which played a huge role in bettering the lives of millions of people all over the world, is now a primary source of global warming/climate change?

Why would God create something that would lead to our demise? God lovingly created the heavens ,the earth and provides all we need for nourishment, shelter and indescribable beauty, also meant it for our demise? If you think about this, according to God’s majesty, mercy and grace, then everything godless experts have told us as beneficial for our safety should be highly scrutinized through the filter of His wisdom and discernment.

When you think about it, isn’t this a blasphemy of God, who created everything good? Is He not also our loving Heavenly Father who sent His only begotten Son as the final sacrifice for our sins: past , present and future?
Jesus willingly went to the cross, died and was resurrected so that we would have the choice not to die before repenting of our sins? This is the loving, Holy God who, for now, is providing every opportunity so no one would spend eternity in hell.
When you consider what a good, merciful and loving God we have, isn’t it evil to slander His creation as an existential threat? It’s not the creation that poses a temporal and eternal danger, only unrepentant sin .
Lies are all we get from certain political factions, rogue bureaucratic elements of government, and a press derelict in its First Amendment duty. God hates lies and so must Christians.
There are six things the Lord hates—
no, seven things he detests:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that kill the innocent,
a heart that plots evil,
feet that race to do wrong,
a false witness who pours out lies,
a person who sows discord in a family.–Proverbs 6:16-19 (NLT)
As the Presidential election approaches, I encourage all Bible -believing Christians to look at the issues facing us from the prism of good and evil, rather than partisan spin. God fearing Christians must reject any party or candidate speaking lies as truth, sowing discord (i.e. division), encouraging lawlessness, fanning the flames of hatred and blaspheming God’s creation.
We should only fear the Lord. Not climate change, nor any so-called threat to democracy. Remember this as we near November with all the chaos that will be coming. Yes, we are to pray for our enemies out of love, however because of our fear of God, we are to hate their evil actions.
Fear God…hate evil.
