Relax…One debate does not a presidency make

Like you, I was livid over the flagrant bias in the recent Presidential debate between President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. But now it’s like , relax…one debate does not a presidency make.

Sure, the coaching Kamala received paid off. She played the part of calm and measured leader as Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis kept Trump on the defensive.

They failed!

Kamala may have won the debate, according to giddy liberal and RINO pundits, but Trump is winning the people’s confidence.

For instance, Reuters interviewed 10 undecided people before the start of the debate. And Get this … six people became Trump supporters afterward , with three saying they would back Harris with one still undecided. That’s a two to one shift .

A post-debate CNN flash poll also revealed a shocking counter to the pundits’ glowing Kamala reviews. Debate watchers gave Trump a 20 point lead over Harris over who could better handle the economy, a 23 point advantage for Trump on immigration, and a six point edge of confidence to handling the role of Commander-in-Chief.

CNN Flash Poll result

Even though the CNN flash poll showed Harris winning the debate, voters trust Trump more with the economy, immigration and carrying out the duties of Commander-in-Chief.

Boom!

ABC News is also feeling the backlash over the flagrant bias of Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis. Online reports show the pair fact-checked Trump seven times, compared to zero for Kamala. They even stayed silent when Kamala regurgitated the Charlottesville “very fine people” hoax which was even debunked by the left-leaning Snopes.

ABC pulled out the stops to help Kamala, but sacrificed its already fading credibility in the eyes of viewers. The bias was so bad even Megyn Kelly had to call it out. This is rich, since Kelly tried to sandbag Trump, as a Fox News moderator, during the first 2015 Presidential Primary Debate.

While anything can happen in the remaining days before November, this campaign cycle is different. People are caring less about the winner of a debate and more about the candidate who can make their lives better.

So relax… one debate does not a presidency make.

Did Kamala get by with a little help from her friends?

In what may be the only debate of the 2024 Presidential Campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris beat the odds, showing up poised and well -rehearsed, while President Donald Trump debated not only her , but the two moderators. Did Kamala get by with a little help from her friends?

The mission for ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis seemed to be putting Trump on the defensive . When he punched back, they tried to fact -check and dismiss him as if he were some angry old man. Did it work?

ABC Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis

Maybe it worked to a certain degree, since Trump was clearly annoyed and wasn’t his usual zinger-slinging self. Kamala , on the other hand wasn’t her usual word-salad, cliche-laden , cackling self, which actually stood out more.

Kamala portrayed herself as measured and thoughtful; two traits never usually associated with her. As the debate went on, her supposed humble confidence became condescendingly smug .

I commented to some friends, either she was given the debate questions or the moderators were given a heads-up about the talking points she rehearsed for the past two weeks. She was weirdly too smooth.

It was like the D student who suddenly aces his chemistry final. Everyone wonders ,”Did he suddenly get smart or did he find a way to cheat?”

Harris, known for her cackle , redundant aphorisms and reputation for not being the brightest person in the room, is suddenly articulate, no-nonsense and , dare I say, knowledgable? Perhaps she had a little help from her friends, Muir and Davis?

The two moderators fact-checked Trump on his comments of Haitian immigrants eating Ohio residents’ cats and dogs ,the 2020 Presidential results and Democrat stances regarding late term abortions. Yet when Harris alluded to Trump insulting U.S. soldiers with the debunked “suckers and losers” line and smearing him with the equally debunked Charlottesville “very fine people” on both sides, not a peep from the fake news representatives.

Is anyone truly surprised by the bias? It’s like a dog’s relationship with a tree : symbiotic.

Despite their efforts to dismiss Trump as angry, He always managed to get the last word. That’s presidential. There were several instances where Kamala was looking to the moderators to bail her out. That’s not presidential.

Not sure most Americans are buying the gaslight. Will one debate change this presidential race? We’ll see if Kamala gets a post-debate bounce, since she did not get one after the Democrat National Convention.

That’s something to keep in mind, most Americans do not like Harris. She comes off as fake and condescending .

.

I don’t believe the Dem spin, which we will have to endure for the next week or so, will move the needle much either. This weekend’s polls will determine whether my prediction is right or wrong.

However, I think the biggest factor retarding any Harris gains is a topic not covered in the debate or mentioned at the DNC. That topic was the assassination attempt against President Trump.

That the Democrats never acknowledged or even thanked whatever god they worship for Trump’s survival , speaks more loudly than any biased debate question. Such an omission is exhibit A of their incivility, and win at all costs mentality.

The left wants that incident down the memory hole , but it won’t work. Trump’s survival formed an indelible bond with voters on both sides of the aisle.

Trump spilled his blood for this country, while Kamala crammed a passable debate performance with a little help from her friends. What do you think voters will remember?
