President Biden gave a very rare news conference Thursday, where he took “questions” from the Democrat stenographers. How did he do and did the “big boy” press conference save Ol Joe from those in his party calling for him to step down?

Well it didn’t help he called his VP ,”Vice President Trump” when addressing the opening question about Vice President Kamala Harris’ qualifications as president.
Biden replied , “I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump as vice president if I (didn’t think) she was not qualified to be president. “
And the look on the face of Biden’s team says it all. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s like “What did I just hear?” The look on Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’ eyes say “Oh, not again!” National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan places his hand over his mouth and chin and is like “Dude!”
If that gaffe wasn’t the stuff of new memes, President Biden, a.k.a the Commander-in-Chief, then misspoke saying one point he’s “following the advice of his commander-in- chief.”
The “big boy ” press conference was the just the finale of a gaffe-filled day for the President who got 81 million votes in 2020. At the NATO meeting in Washington D.C. earlier in the day , Biden introduced Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky as President Putin before catching himself.
To be fair , Biden didn’t completely blow the press conference, after all the bar was set pretty low. All he needed to do was take questions, not wander off, or exhibit any bizarre behavior. Mission accomplished.
Biden will be the nominee leading up to the Democrat National Convention in August. It’s simply too problematic to change candidates due the election rules and deadlines of each different state.
If there is a change of candidate, it will probably happen during or after the convention. That could mean Biden stepping down voluntarily for the good of the country, his cabinet evoking the 25th Amendment or Biden and family leaving the scene with a lucrative deal. Or perhaps I am wrong and Biden will remain the candidate. We’ll see.
Either way, the question remains, did the big boy press conference save Ol Joe? Probably not , but his showing has, for now, bought him some time.
