How are you doing one day after a New York jury, a partisan judge and DA convicted a former president? I don’t know about you , but I am optimistic.
On its face, it looked as if President Donald Trump and Make America Great Again suffered a major defeat. But was it a defeat or a self-inflicted wound by the left?
A New York jury , enabled by a partisan liberal judge became the first in history to convict a former President . Let’s not even focus on the sham charges or the leftist judge for a moment.
What happened yesterday was the setting of precedent. It is no longer outside the realm of reality to convict a former president.
Think about that seriously. What the legal system of this country used to consider out of the question, is now reality.
This means any state attorney general or local district attorney can prosecute any former president suspected of committing real crimes. No longer does a judge or prosecutor have to worry about the media blowback of being the first one to try a former president. Judge Juan Merchan and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg have become trailblazers. Perhaps, not in the way they think?
I believe Trump knows this and was counting on a conviction verdict. I reached this conclusion after a comment made by CNN Legal Analyst Professor Jonathan Turley in the aftermath of the Thursday’s verdict (cued to 8:08. play to 8:43).
“The atmosphere in the room at the end, I must say, was solemn and it was riveting: no one moved. ” Turley said. “Now it was funny cause they really ramped up security right before the verdict came in and they , the security said nobody move, nobody stand. And there was a bit of chuckle cause no one was moving, everyone was frozen…The person that seemed the calmest was Trump. He continued to talk with his counsel. This did not seem to surprise him in the least.”
Remember also to 2022, when the Supreme Court allowed Congress access to Trump tax returns? Again, a precedent was set , allowing access to every presidents’ tax information. If Trump is re-elected these are substantial means of access for any Congressional inquiry or Trump Department of Justice investigation.
Consider also the Supreme Court is set to decide the issue of presidential immunity as early as next week. A ruling against Trump means past presidents can no long claim immunity from criminal charges based on official acts as president.
It will be interesting to see how this looming SCOTUS decision plays out. Before you accuse me of hopium, all I’m doing is recounting what has occurred thus far. Maybe Trump is playing 4D chess, or maybe he isn’t?

Let me tell you how I am doing. I am disgusted with the entire judicial and political process but what I am most disappointed or infuriated by is the Republican Party. President Trump and the American people are only given lip service and meaningless written comments by the Republican Party, which has no intention of acting on anything they say or write. The left and Democrat Party are all in on destroying America and President Trump. They will not stop until they have destroyed this country. I am ashamed of the Republican Party. Republican Senators and Congressmen are more concern with their status within the beltway than the people they came to represent. The Republican Party did not lose their soul, they never had one to begin with. They are cowards! They are afraid of their own shadows. They all clamor for the camera and cry how unjust things are, how “we need to support President Trump” and how horrible the Democratic Party is as they run off to break bread with those they supposedly despise. I once believed there was a difference between political parties and that these parties represented us and not a hidden agenda! What a joke! I turn to Psalm 112:4-8 “Even in darkness light dawns for the upright…Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice. Surely, he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever. He will have no fear of bad news; his heart steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.” This Psalm reminds me not to fear bad news but instead trust in the Lord not political parties. The Lord never abandons us and His providence will never be defeated by evil political agendas. President Trump is right where the Lord wants him to be. May we all pray for God’s guidance in these evil days. In God we trust!
