I was a once a liberal Democrat, who even voted for Bill Clinton in 1992. So, I thought it would be interesting to illustrate a dialogue between my conservative self and my former liberal self. I call it, “An interview with Democrat me. “

Just so you’re able to follow, my Democrat dialogue is in bold italics. I wrote this in an interview format. With that said, here we go:
“Historic! That racist Trump is finally getting what he deserves. This should weaken this threat to America and our democracy, MAGA.”

Make America Great Again is a cult?
“Yes! It’s dim-witted idiots following a leader in the mold of Hitler. MAGA is code for taking us back to the days of McCarthyism and Jim Crow. “
But aren’t Democrats practicing those historical black- eyes, with demonizing white males and the blacklisting of conservatives in Hollywood and education ?
“No. What we’re practicing is Diversity Equity and Inclusion. We’re stopping evil!”
What evil are you talking about?
“The violence, racist republicans commit.”
What violence?
“Your violent speech.”
Give me an example of violent speech.
“There are so many examples I can’t even begin .”
Well , just give me one.
“Ok. You questioned the results of the 2020 election. You say the 2020 election was stolen by cheating. This is dangerous for democracy!”
Why is it dangerous?
“You racist Republicans are undermining the integrity of elections which divides the country.”
Didn’t the Democrats do that when Americans elected Donald Trump as President in 2016?
“No, we said Trump was illegitimate. That’s different. Hillary won the popular vote.”
Trump won the electoral college which is what counts. The Constitution details the President is elected via the electoral college, so populous states are stopped from having undue influence.
“Russian interference helped steal the election from Hillary Clinton. Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin.”
You do understand the whole Russia Collusion story was revealed as a hoax after Hillary’s campaign paid for the Steele Dossier?
“No it wasn’t . That’s lies and disinformation from the evil Trump side.”
Disinformation? You guys use that word a lot. What’s the difference between disinformation and misinformation?
“Don’t try your rhetorical games with me. The words speak for themselves.”
Those words speak of censorship. You Dems seem to throw out those words to shut down free speech.
“Freedom of speech doesn’t give conservatives license to spout lies or spread hate speech.”
Hate speech? Conservatives don’t go around using racial or misogynistic slurs like the N-word or the b-word in our speech or everyday parlance.
“You may not say those words, but you imply them when you talk about patriotism or a merit-based culture. “
So, that’s racist and sexist, talking about love of country or of rewarding people based on merit, rather than skin color?
“Patriotism is code for white supremacy, and merit is another way of promoting institutionalized discrimination.”
I see. You guys are always warning against white supremacy. How can you say that when America voted for Barack Obama for president . Lots of Republicans cast their vote to elect the first black president.
“Yes, but racism got worse after Obama was elected.”
It only got worse because Obama and his administration made it worse. In fact , Obama set back race relations 50 years.
” More disinformation! Whites in this country, especially conservative Republicans, wanted Obama to fail. Trump was complicit in this by calling Obama’s birth certificate fake.”
Is that one of the reasons you hate Trump?
“Yes, Trump is a racist. He and MAGA are the greatest danger to democracy.”
Interesting. Under Trump ,America had no wars, had the strongest economy in decades, and the lowest minority unemployment ever. If he’s such a a racist, why did so many people benefit from his polices?
“Did you ever read his tweets? He’s a narcissist and only cares about himself. It’s all about Trump. His cult is blind to his evil and his danger to democracy.”
So again MAGA is a cult?
“Of course! MAGA ignores climate change, despises science , rejected the mask mandates, and demonstrates hatred toward drag queens and transgenders. These are dumb people who blindly follow Trump.”
But how can Trump be this existential threat when Biden got 81 million votes in 2020?
“His lies cast doubt on the integrity of the election process.”
Hmm… maybe Trump’s accusations were a threat to your narrative that Joe Biden got more votes than Barack Obama and every other president in history.
“President Biden got more votes because Americans were tired of Trump’s failures and lies. They wanted proven and mature leadership. What kind of a president constantly attacks the press and calls it fake news? The press is vital to our democracy.”
Trump must have struck a chord because public trust in media is at an all time low. Anyway so what’s your take on Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts by a Manhattan jury?

“Justice finally prevailed. The legal process worked and no one is above the law.”
Does it bother you that no one, not even legal experts can articulate exactly what Trump is guilty of? The proceeding was called a hush-money trial and such a violation is a basically a misdemeanor, a non-disclosure agreement.
“Trump was convicted by a jury of his peers, a jury his lawyers agreed to.”
Trump’s lawyers agreed to the best of what was a hostile jury pool. And what about Judge Juan Merchan’s donations to the Biden campaign and his daughter’s ties to a group promoting Democrat candidates?
“Judge Merchan gave a small campaign contribution and let’s not bring his daughter into this. Trump, the convicted felon, tried to make the judge’s child a distraction.
You guys love saying convicted felon, don’t you?
“Yes, because it’s true.”
Looks like Trump supporters are embracing it also. He raised over 50 million dollars within a day of his conviction.
“That shows what a danger the MAGA cult is.”
Uh-huh. Looks like more blacks and hispanics are buying into MAGA over Biden as well.
“Those aren’t real blacks and hispanics if they vote for Trump.”
You mean, Trump…the convicted felon?
@%&* you, this conversation is over.

Good interview with your old self. You could feel the agenda and brainwashing that goes along with the radical left.
Well put Dex! The conversation almost ALWAYS goes this direction. and when the very few libs that will actually engage in a persuasive dialogue have no real facts they shut down and run! So sad for America that we are at this point in history…. a place where people treat their adherence to their political party like a fan of a professional sports team. My daddy was a Raiders fan so I’m a Raiders fan! Insert Democrat, and now we see the hilarity. BTW, I also used to be a registered Democrat, but looked at their values, and changed my ways for the better. Let’s hope and pray that many more get to a moral evaluation of the left/communist ideals and make the switch, and quickly!
