“January 20, 2025 is Liberation day” an awesome line from President Trump’s liberating second inaugural speech. Trump’s sincere earnestness and the lack of empty platitudes was a standout.
Video cued to 8:09 , but watch the speech in its entirety.
As President Trump laid out the challenges Americans face, due the abject failure of the Biden Administration, I could not help but think of the level of damage done.
If anyone’s suited for this mission it’s Donald J. Trump. I believe God has appointed him for this very task.
We must cover President Trump with our prayers daily.
Do not become slack. The greatness of this country rests in God-fearing people, not in a single president. Our job is to pray in Jesus’ name for our leaders, families, neighbors and for the United States of America.
God willing, we have four years to get this right so JD Vance can continue for another two terms and his vice president for another eight years after.
The God-fearing Christian must always walk a fine line with politics. When pointing out the dangers or consequences of partisan policies, Christians must be careful not to return hate for hate. Jesus, instead calls us to love and pray for our enemies…regardless of party affiliation.
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.—Matthew 5:44-45(New King James Version)
While some Democrats identify as Christians, the party as a whole hates, Bible-believing, God-fearing Christianity. They hate it because we reflect Jesus , rather than world, and therefore, stand against their signature anti-life, anti-creation and anti-family policies.
However, they mostly hate us because we test everything against the Word of God. That really drives the pagans crazy.
They call us vile names and accuse us of narrow-mindedness, when the reality is we are the independent thinkers who question their virtue and their version of truth . Their hive mentality forces them to stay in lockstep with the daily narrative.
Don’t believe me? Just listen to the verbatim slogans the propaganda media repeat, ad-nauseam, that their viewers then parrot.
Basically, this tells people how and what to think. The implication is since every talking head and print reporter is repeating the same message, then it must be what the majority believes and therefore, must be truth.
This works because, without discernment, people have a natural deference to what the experts (i.e government, academia and journalists) say because of an inherent trust they have the country’s best interests at heart. That may have been true 40-50 years ago when there was more of a deference to God in America, but certainly not now as Christianity’s influence on the USA has waned.
A spirit of the anti-Christ (secularism, paganism and atheism) dominates in America. This has resulted in destructive policies based on lies, fear and narcissism.
Secular Democrats and Republicans have done these things because of carnal minds . Having a carnal-mind means a focus purely on the desires of the flesh.
For to be [a]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the [b]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.–Romans 8:6-8 (NKJV)
These are people who might pay occasional lip-service to God , but place their own desires above God’s precepts.. Their motivations have nothing to do with the greater good, but only lust, greed or power. They have nothing to do with the Holy Spirit which is foolishness to them.
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.–1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (NKJV)
As Christians we must keep this in mind when we engage such people. How many times have you had a discussion about culture or politics with a devout Democrat only to walk away exasperated and asking yourself, “What the heck is wrong with these people that makes them ignore facts?”
As Christians , we must remember that only by the grace of God we have open eyes and a discerning heart. Only God’s grace and faith in Jesus Christ ,as Lord and Savior, blesses us with truth and sets us free.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” They answered Him(Jesus), “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.—John 8:31-36(NKJV)
This does not mean we no longer sin, however we are no longer in bondage to it. Slaves have no will of their own. A slave obeys their master because he is the master’s property. In the case of sin, it is the master of the enslaved person.
To tell the truth, we are either slaves to the world, the flesh and the devil or to Christ. Jesus ransomed (1 Timothy 2:5-6) His flock from the devil with His death on the cross and resurrection. Therefore, Jesus sets believers free from sin: the world’s beliefs, thoughts and perspectives which only lead to death.
There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.– Proverbs 14:12 (NKJV)
Therefore, may we go beyond mere political differences when dealing with individuals with whom we profoundly disagree with. May we understand a person’s political ideology may reflect their love of, and bondage to, sin.
Of course we must vote our consciences as submitted to God, but let us not idolize a political party or political figure. In the same way , we should not automatically demonize a political figure or party as unworthy of prayer and God’s redemption.
Believe it or not, there was once upon a time where political differences stopped at the water’s edge. People united as Americans, despite any party disagreements.
That changed when Marxists and socialists took over the Democrat Party, journalism, the universities and Hollywood. That began a gradual march to criminalize their political opposition.
From this, came cancel culture, censorship and lawfare (using the legal system to crush their enemies). This has gone beyond politics and into the spiritual: what truly lies in their hearts.
Only people with ungodly hearts steeped in lies , hatred and fear embrace such strategies. Therefore, logic , reason and even facts will have little to no effect to changing the minds of idealogues presently blinded to God’s truth. Only God can change the hearts of lost people.
We must boldly stand in God’s truth when confronting these individuals and when I say boldly, I do not mean condemnation. For if you condemn them aren’t you merely returning evil for evil?
Repay no one evil for evil. Have[a] regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.— Romans 12:17-21(NKJV)
May our adversaries define us based on who we are in Jesus Christ and not solely by our political affiliation. Yes, we vote for the party that bests protects our faith and represents our Christian beliefs, but that does not restrict us from showing love f0r our enemies by not compromising God’s Word and our prayers for them.
God is glorified in many ways. Amid the miracle of President Trump surviving an assassination attempt, is the example of a valorous father sacrificing his life to protect his family.
Corey Comperatore pictured with daughter, Allison
Within seconds of the crack of gunfire at the Trump Rally in Butler County, Corey Comperatore’s only thoughts were protecting his family. He immediately threw his wife and two daughters to the ground, shielding them with his body from the danger. His last words to his family? “Get down!”
Corey Comperatore and wife, Helen
This, before a bullet struck his head, ending his life.
Comperatore , 50 , a God-fearing former volunteer fire department chief, did what God designed husbands and fathers to do: protect their families, no matter the cost.
The media is calling his death a tragedy, inferring it a matter of wrong place wrong time. I disagree. He was in the right place at the right time, to save the lives of his family ,and provide inspiration for other God-fearing men.
Yes ,God’s power was manifested by preventing the kill shot from taking Trump out. However , Comperatore also illustrated the love of Jesus Christ by putting his family’s well-being above his own. That’s what godly husbands and fathers do.
If you are not doing so , please pray for God’s strength and comfort over this family. You may want to ask for even a small amount of the selflessness exemplified by Corey Comperatore as well.
There’s plenty to fear in our current world: wars, rumors of war, pandemics, rising crime rates and invasion at our souther border. Yet the Bible tells us to fear not. Simply put, when we fear God, not man, our Heavenly Father blesses us with peace and wisdom.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.–Proverbs 9:10 (English Standard Version)
If the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, what does the fear of man yield?
The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe. –Proverbs 29:25 (ESV)
The American Heritage dictionary defines a snare as: 1.A trapping device, often consisting of a noose, used for capturing birds and small mammals. 2. Something that lures or entangles the unwary.
When a snare catches an animal , the noose tightens as it struggles to get away. This provides a perfect metaphor for fearing man.
How does the fear of man snare people? Worrying what people think or say about us can cause us to stay silent when we should witness or defend our faith in Jesus. You may even decline to stand against evil due to worries of loss of livelihood, reputation, or even your life.
The reality is we are compliant to what we fear. Yes, we obeyed our parents as children our of respect, but mostly because we feared the consequences of the belt or grounding.
Remember also as a child going along with your group of friends because of peer pressure? We did so out of fear of ostracism.
I’d like to now revisit a situation in recent history in which all the fears mentioned above were encapsulated into a single, surreal event: the Covid pandemic . As you will see, this was a snare on many levels.
Many of us lost loved ones due to Covid, which was terrible and tragic. The elderly and those with chronic chronic conditions were most at risk. Yet ,instead of focusing on those who were at risk, government aided by the media chose to frighten every citizen out of their minds.
Numbers were inflated by hospitals . People who died in car accidents or had heart attacks, etc were said to have died of Covid if they even had a trace of the virus at the time of their death. This practice only aided in the panic.
Infected elderly people were returned to nursing homes under orders by health officials, leading to more deaths and inflating the death toll. This was largely ignored by the press, who instead focused on stories of food and toilet paper shortages, overwhelmed emergency rooms or how Covid would affect the incumbent president’s reelection. If this wasn’t bad enough, one news outlet had a Covid death ticker running during each broadcast.
People did anything they could to get out of that snare, as indicated by their blind allegiance to every arbitrary government edict. Many comforted themselves they were doing good and protecting elderly loved ones as they surrendered to tyranny.
People wore masks everywhere, even when walking with their spouse in the park, or driving alone. They stayed six feet apart even though the rule was unscientific.
Families hunkered down, isolating themselves from friends and loved ones. Many parents didn’t pushback against schools shutting down; forcing their kids to learn via Zoom. Many Christians stopped going to church due to fears of catching the virus.
On the other hand, many God-fearing Christians chose freedom over authoritarianism. They resolved not to live in fear, because they believe God determines their calling into heaven. If Covid was to be that opening of the door to eternity, then so be it.
These men and women continued social gatherings during the lockdowns. Despite following mask mandates early on , they later declined when reports came out questioning the effectiveness of the mandates (which recent reports have validated). These were men and women who walked into supermarkets unmasked and allowed their kids to have sleepovers with friends. Their fear of God trumped their fear of man.
So we can confidently say,“The Lord is my helper;I will not fear; what can man do to me?”–Hebrews 13:6
Why did I spend a good part of this column revisiting Covid? We are in an election year in which certain forces do not want the return of a certain president. We’ll refer to him as DJT.
Covid coincidentally came just before 2020 presidential campaign, along with rioting in major cities. If this happened as a prelude to campaign season, what do you think these forces have planned in 2024? After all, this DJT is winning primaries and surging in polls? It’s not difficult to imagine.
Let me encourage you to fear not as wars, rumors of war, threats of future pandemics and terrorist attacks loom. Pray often, study your Bible, and trust in the peace and protection of the LORD through your faith in Jesus.
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.–2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)
If conviction reveals your fear of man as greater than your fear of God, take heart. You do not have to remain enslaved.
Jesus sets you free when you ask Him to be Lord and Savior of your life. Surrendering your life to God, though Jesus and the by the power of the Holy Spirit, reveals truth and takes away fear.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.–Romans 12:2 (ESV)
Now is the time to do this. I hope I am wrong, but I believe 2024 will be unlike any year in our lifetime. Those who keep their eyes on Jesus will be steadied by the power of the Holy Spirit no matter what happens. Therefore, we can encourage others to fear God, not man
