Moving Toward a Reckoning

“It’s not revenge he’s after. It’s a reckoning.” Doc Holidayfrom the movie Tombstone (1993)

President Donald Trump is not seeking revenge on Democrats, RINO’s and the Deep State, he’s moving toward a reckoning.  Believe it.

Merriam Webster Dictionary describes a day of reckoning as:

a time when the consequences of a course of mistakes or misdeeds are felt

Democrats sense that day is coming. Look at their panic over the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) audit findings of fraud and waste in departments such as USAID and FEMA.

Musk recently mentioned in an Oval Office press conference, a cursory DOGE examination of the Social Security Administration revealing payments going to 150-year-old recipients. Watch the left go Defcon 1 level bananas when that full audit is launched.

Meanwhile, note Obama-appointed federal judges countermanding Trump’s Executive Orders.  Can we say, bad optics?

First, the Dems look like raving fools defending government waste instead of siding with taxpayers. Second, as Vice President JD Vance rightly tweeted , judges are trying to control the president. In his tweet, Vance also cited Harvard Law Professor Adrian Vermeule who says:

“Judicial interference with legitimate acts of state, especially the internal functioning of a co-equal branch, is a violation of the separation of powers.”

Senator Tom Cotton succinctly echoed this outrage in another tweet:

Outrageous. Obama Judge Paul Engelmayer didn’t just bar Elon Musk and DOGE from Treasury systems, he barred the Secretary of the Treasury himself. Without citing a single law or even allowing Trump admin to appear in court! This outlaw should be reversed immediately and Engelmayer should be forbidden by higher courts from ever hearing another case against the Trump admin.

Put simply, judges are to interpret the law, not micromanage the executive actions of a President. In the same way, a president cannot dictate how a judge is to interpret the law.

“But, but… Elon Musk and DOGE are causing a Constitutional crisis!” the Dems shriek. “Musk and his hackers, led by ‘Big Balls’, are a threat to the people’s private information!”

Ok, but riddle me this? When is the last time you heard the Dems expressing such righteous concern over people’s data? Remember all those Congressional hearings the Dems called for every time a major data breach occurred? Oh, that’s right, there weren’t any.

Dems are using, against Elon, the Saul Alinsky tactic of picking a target, freezing it, personalizing it  and polarizing it. Media echo chamber aside, it’s not working.

Despite the media’s efforts to demonize Trump, voters gave him both the electoral college and popular vote in his landslide .

Elon backed Trump after the Butler Pennsylvania assassination attempt.  A prominent fixture at Trump rallies, voters enthusiastically welcomed Musk’s support.

Therefore, Dems, a majority elected Trump. By default, they also support the talented individuals– like Elon, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr, Kash Patel, etc.– Trump wants to carry out his policies and to keep his promises to the people.

But you wouldn’t know about putting the people first.  Your loyalties are to a corrupt system that fleeces the taxpayer, while enriching yourselves.

Unfortunately, that corrupt system also extends to activist federal judges blocking the people’s efforts of upending the status quo of fraud and graft. This corruption is what’s really unconstitutional, not DOGE informing the people of government fraud and waste.

Trump could rightly ignore the federal rulings and may do so. He could also use the bully pulpit to suggest Congress impeach these judges.  That’s a possibility. However, it appears Trump wants the Supreme Court to decide this.

On paper, the appeal looks like a constitutional slam dunk for SCOTUS where this issue of jurisdiction could be decided once and for all.  Everyone’s got a pretty good idea where the libs on the court will fall on the matter. The wild card is Chief Justice John Roberts, and to a lesser degree, Justice Amy Coney Barrett. But, we’ll see.

Meanwhile, Trump’s m.o. is to work within the rule of law instead of subverting it as the Democrats do. Will the law come in the form of a SCOTUS slap down, Congressional impeachment and conviction in the Senate, or will Trump simply ignore the rulings?

Either way, Trump’s got the law as his weapon of reckoning, and that’s what’s scaring the hell out of Democrats.
