WTH is the WEF?

You ever get a spiritual check?

In case you don’t know what I am referring to, a spiritual check is that thought, that feeling that immediately hits you when you come in contact with or read about something that is evil. That something is anti-God, anti-Christ and anti-life.

That spiritual check hit me in the last two years about the World Economic Forum (WEF). What is the WEF?

Well, they’re a group of ultra-rich elites, radical environmentalists and western government representatives who, since 1971, have been gathering each year in Davos, Switzerland to discuss global issues. This, under the auspices of saving the world.

Let’s emphasize “world” over mankind when it comes to the WEF. By the way, if you haven’t done so, click the above link and go to the WEF logo. Is it just me or does the half circle piercing the three “o’s” look like 666?

Microsoft founder Bill Gates is a prominent member of the WEF which is lead by a bald and bespectacled Klaus Schwab. This guy looks straight out of central casting as a James Bond villain. The haughty former Senator John Kerry and self-proclaimed global warming prophet/former Vice President Al Gore are also prominent members.

Through his “Young Global Leaders” program, Schwab has bragged that the WEF has penetrated “the global cabinets of countries” . Graduates of the program include Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, French President Emmanuel Macron, the aforementioned Bill Gates, and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel.For a deep dive of the list of the nearly 4000 graduates visit Dr Robert Malone’s website. You will be shocked.

When you look at the graduates perhaps that explains the synchronicity of the worldwide Covid lockdowns , the push for full vaccination , the call for vaccine passports, the brutal oppression toward the unvaccinated and the censorship of opposing viewpoints? Schwab is on record for using the Covid pandemic as a trigger for the Great Reset.

Why the recent calls to ban gas stoves? Why is California declaring a ban on the sale of gas powered cars in the state by 2035? This is because of the so-called climate change emergency.

The WEF authoritatively proclaims climate change will lead to dwindling resources because of mankind’s consumption of red meat. As a result, they deem to us in their role as our betters, that the masses must learn to consume alternative protein sources such as bugs and synthetic meat (meat produced in a lab) to save the environment.

Are you concerned yet?

The WEF also tells governments that the world is overpopulated despite birthrates worldwide and especially in Western Civilization dropping. What does this mean? Private property must be eliminated for the good of all except for the elites that is. After all they must be separated from the rest of the rabble. Just recently the WEF predicted we the great unwashed “will own nothing and be happy“.

Hmm… sounds suspiciously like …Communism ?!

Criticizing the WEF in the past would get you some looks and reactions as if you were some conspiracy theorist. As with everything God is revealing, conspiracy theory is becoming conspiracy fact. The WEF, in the form of a defacto world government, is dictating policy to once sovereign countries. What else could explain the call to reduce the use of nitrogen based fertilizers which will greatly reduce the worldwide supply of food? Why in the United States is our country exporting our natural gas to other countries, leading to double and even tripled gas bills to heat homes in the winter and cook food. Our media tell us this is due to Russia cutting off supplies of natural gas to European countries supporting Ukraine.

I believe that the spikes in heating and fueling our vehicles are designed to get citizens to develop an aversion to petroleum resources. Let me explain. Driving the prices up causes people to use less of it. Meanwhile what’s being touted as the saving alternative? That’s right, electric powered cars and stoves.

This is no slight, but most people are simply too busy with their lives to put the pieces together of how we are being manipulated into accepting the where the WEF wants us to be.

Here’s the problem. The infrastructure cannot support the increased use of electrical demand. But even that macroeconomic quandary ignores the reasons we are told that electric is the better way to go and that is the ability of more governmental control of your life.

You simply cannot drive as far with electric vehicles before you need to charge.Therefore , your freedom to travel as you please is reduced. Last year during peak energy usage in California, the state called for people not to charge their electric vehicles . That is a loss of freedom under the guise of an emergency. That is government control.

When it comes to the United States of America, we are still under the Constitution. Since this is the case, does the deference of some of our political leaders to WEF policies constitute ignoring the will of the people? It would seem so.

So what can we do as Christians when it comes to the WEF and its machinations? Study the Constitution. Stay informed and study your Bible, especially the books of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation. Begin to speak the truth to your friends and loved ones, even it leads to strained relationships. Finally, pray. Pray now, pray often and pray daily. What we face is not just politics or economics, but outright spiritual warfare. What we are witnessing are examples of doctrines of demons and principalities of darkness.

This is the time for big prayers, not small ones. Our God is greater than everything, including the WEF.

Are we at the end of woke politics?

To paraphrase President Donald Trump, everything woke turns to crap. Actually, his description was more colorful, but Trump’s right.

Name one positive aspect of woke politics. Really. Try hard.

I’m guessing you can’t.

One glaring aspect of woke politics is that these people seem pissed off all the time. There is nothing positive about this political philosophy that even attracts a majority of Americans.

For example, the civil rights movement of the 1960’s attracted supporters, because its message was largely positive. That certain parts of the country was discriminating against a race of people was an offense to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. Dr. King is still lauded today, because he preached that all black people wanted was to be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Wokeism is no answer to Constitutional grievances. All of those who subscribe to this philosophy have freedom of speech, the right to vote, the right to assemble and all the other freedoms as listed in Constitution. They even have inalienable rights to life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness as written in the Declaration of Independence.

Wokeism demands people be judged solely by the color of their skin, or their gender, because some agents of subversion decided to foist it on mainstream America to turn all the progress this country has made on its head. Women good/men bad. Whiteness bad/ people of color good. White men ? They’re just plain evil.

Yeah… deep thinking is not a facet of wokeism, only shallow judgements. Where are the learned thinkers of wokeism? Who can be pointed to as the philosophical authors of wokeism? Sure, there may be people who could be named at the university level, but I can’t think of anyone on a national level.

That’s not the case with conservatism. For example, who can deny the national impression to America made by such intellectual giants such as Adam Smith, William F. Buckley ,Thomas Sowell , Rush Limbaugh or Shelby Steele? People may not have agreed with the viewpoints of these individuals, but never once have their beliefs been forced upon people under threat of punishment.

Wokeism demands demonization not unity and hatred over love. Put simply, if you reject wokeism, you are a racist , bigot, homophobe therefore you are only worthy of the most acidic vitriol.

So anyway, back to the title of this piece. Are we at the end of wokeism? I believe we are at the begining of the end. You have only to look at the box office.

Yep, even leftist Hollywood is suffering the consequences of woke virtue signaling. Woke movies do horrible business. The best example is the superhero genre.

Marvel Studios was once an entertainment juggernaut. Every new release used to be highly anticipated. But after going full bore woke with Phase 4, dwindling box office returns from the movie releases have indicated that the public has had enough .

People are simply not buying into the storylines that make once stalwart heroes like Thor, a buffoon or the once raging Hulk boring and weaker Professor Hulk Fans are also tired of the gender and race swapping of their heroes.

Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios has gone on record saying he wants a Marvel Universe made up predominately of female superheroes. How’s that working out Kevin? Thor : Love and Thunder, failure! Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, failure! The Eternals? Failure! Black Panther 2 Wakanda Forever…failure!

The MCU has truly become the M-She-U (Hat tip to Gary “Nerdrotic” Buechler)

You can try to force woke politics down people throats as entertainment, but the public will always speak with their wallets. Threats, fear and intimidation can only get your message so far. After a while people may pay lipservice to get you off their backs, but they will find ways to throw sand in the cogs.

Fear not. For all of its bombast, wokeism will soon be thrown into the ashheap of history as with all Marxist schemes to divide and weaken America.

Jacinda Ardern , one of the epitomes of fascist dictatorship during the world wide Covid lockdown, announced her resignation as New Zealand Prime Minister before the upcoming election.

On Godly Masculinity

“Toxic masculinity” is a phrase that is , to put it mildly, disingenuous. I have come to the conclusion that the term is a slogan, a short phrase that is easily remembered or a mantra.

What is a mantra? A slogan that is uttered ad nauseam to the point where it is accepted as truth. In this case we are told to believe that America is in crisis because the inherent traits of maleness lead to misogyny, racism, violence, homophobia.

The so-called experts have diagnosed masculinity as a potential time-bomb that must be tempered and even changed for society to become the utopia they envision. Like every other “crisis” that the Godless left preaches to us as a revelation, toxic masculinity is merely a term to disarm America and Western Civilization and make it malleable to the wishes of those who think they are saving the world.

What the left is really attacking with the term “toxic masculinity” are those who hold a biblical worldview. The godless really have no problem with violence if it is in the cause of ushering in revolution. What they hate are the spiritual truths in the Bible that condemn the sins they practice, promote and worship.

Before you succumb to the left’s view of masculinity, which simply means you surrender the traits that God has created you with (and embrace emotionalism, indecisiveness, passivity , pride, hate and condemnation), let us look at how God defines masculinity.

In Genesis 1:27 we given our first description of God’s creation of man:

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

God defines in Ephesians 5:25-27 a man’s role of husband to his wife:

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,  that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

We are told to love our wives as Christ loved the church, which means we will love,protect, sanctify, teach and give our lives if necessary. It is our job as masculine Christian men to be responsible not only for the physical needs of our wives but also their spiritual growth.

What does Scripture say about men’s responsibilities as fathers?

And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.–Ephesians 6:4

Fathers are to raise their children with love and discipline. We are to raise our kids up with the word of God. Showing forgiveness and mercy. This means disciplining without unreasonable severity and not demonstrating abusive impatience.

Fathers also have a duty to take care of their families :

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.–1Timothy 5:8

Classic masculinity is represented by guys who are loving, tough, stoic,protective,loyal, hard-working, no-nonsense and humble. Masculine men do not waste time whining about trivial things and endure hardship as necessary when called for.

These are men who give a firm handshake, look you straight in the eye and are measured in what they say. They don’t fly off the handle and lose control of their emotions and lose respect for those men who wear their emotions on their sleeves. These traits do not come naturally to boys, they learn these from fathers and role models who demonstrate these traits.

While I reject with prejudice the term toxic masculinity, I do not deny that we have a spiritual crisis in thousands of young men in America. These are boys who become prone to violence and substance abuse because most of them do not have a father living in their home. As harsh as this sounds , young men need a father to once in a while slap them upside the head to get their attention.

The reality is boys reach a certain age when they no longer fear their mothers even in a two parent home. This is exacerbated in a single parent home. This is certainly not to denigrate single mothers who, by and large, do a tremendous job undertaking the roles of both parents. But truth is truth

If there is a toxic masculinity problem, it’s violent young men who are full of pride, resentment, anger and entitlement. These are hopeless boys, teens and adults who were not raised to take responsibility because of a culture that denigrates fatherhood, marriage and God.

It’s funny. Leftist policies have lead to these problems, yet they shift blame to all maleness with the blanket slander “toxic masculinity.”

On second thought, maybe the left is on to something. Every now and then, their slogans and mantras back into the truth.

Let me explain.

Toxic means poisonous. So toxic masculinity could be accurately defined as poisonous masculinity. Agreed?

Hopefully , I have demonstrated that Godly masculinity is affirming, protective, and good for the country. Fathers are the leaders of their homes and are responsible for loving their wives, loving and disciplining their children and providing for their families.

The Godless on the other hand tell women they don’t need marriage or men. They believe government is better equipped to provide for children and that young boys should be medicated rather than redirecting their energy. However, you have only to watch the evening news to see that the evidence is abundantly clear that leftist/Godless culture has poisoned everything it touches, including masculinity.

May Godly men be even bolder in their demonstration of masculinity that honors our Heavenly Father and glorifies Jesus. May we also demonstrate this in prayer and reaching out to those young men who are in lost in darkness.

Dying suddenly should not be a cliche

A Las Vegas high school student is the latest young person to collapse and suddenly die from an apparent heart attack.

Jordan Brister was found unresponsive in bathroom at Amplus Academy, a public charter school on last week. The student’s father , Conrad Brister, said Jordan collapsed in the bathroom on January 3rd and may have been there for over 20 minutes before he was discovered.

Jordan is the second Las Vegas high school student to collapse and die suddenly from a cardiac event. Last week 16 year old Ashari Hughes collapsed and died while playing flag football . The Clark County Coroners office said the Desert Oasis High student suffered a cardiac death due to a “rare congenital anomaly.”

Two high school students dying from heart attacks in one week? Coincidence?

Now consider earlier this week, an Air Force Academy Offensive Lineman died suddenly while walking to class. Hunter Brown 21, a standout player for the Falcons collapsed shortly after leaving his dorm for class. CPR efforts were unsuccessful.

These are just three of many young athletes who have died suddenly over the past two years. It seems literally every week there is a new story about another young athlete dying suddenly, in many cases, while involved in some athletic endeavor.

What has been the reaction? Crickets. I watch news reporters giving the stories and all that is reported is the official narrative . Not one time have I heard these talking heads even question out loud this relatively new phenomena of young, fit people dying suddenly. All we hear is these well coiffed reporters using the phrase “dying suddenly” like a cliche in vein of “shocked neighbors” or being “rushed to a local hospital.

Let me just state the obvious. Young people don’t just die of heart attacks! Sure, there used to be the rare case, but when there is rash of such anomalies what’s forming is a pattern that needs to be gotten to the bottom of.

One publication reports that in the past two years there have been nearly 800 athletes collapsing on the field of competition, many of whom were European soccer players.

Hmm… what has coincided with these sudden deaths? Oh yes, the rollout of the vaccines.

In not one of these cases have I read about an autopsy confirming the specific cause of death to these athletes. I am not talking the official cause as reported to journalists, but specific details of these deaths , such as blood clots, aneurysms , etc. Several doctors have gone record putting their licenses and reputations on the line stating that the vaccines cause myocarditis in young people.

Now I am not saying definitively that the vaccines have led to these deaths, but in lieu of any other peer -reviewed studies , how can one not dismiss the shots? And for the record , so called fact-checkers dismissing contrary claims are no substitute for official research.

What has really stood out is reporters pretending not to know things. These rash of deaths would have been low-hanging fruit to the investigative reporters of thirty or forty years ago. Exposing large corporations , like big Pharma, used to be a feather in the cap of hungry up and coming reporters. There used to be no better way to break into the big time than investigating a corporation and putting its mouthpiece on camera to be placed in a bad light.

Whatever is the cause of these heart attacks in these young people will be brought to the light because truth has a funny way of making itself known. Just like the debunking of the Trump/Russian Collusion and the Covid-19 virus coming from a Chinese wet market, all of us have a good chance of witnessing conspiracy theory turning into conspiracy fact.

Welcome to the Discerning Pundit

Thank you for visiting the Discerning Pundit, my first and hopefully successful attempt in the blogosphere

First and foremost I am a Christian. My Lord and Savior is Jesus Christ who died for my sins on the cross, was resurrected three days later and sits at the right hand of God. I am the author of the book, No Christian Man is an Island and I have written columns for The American Thinker. My background is in broadcast journalism.

So why the name Discerning Pundit? Discernment is an important spiritual gift from God that blesses us with the ability tell right from wrong and good from evil. Discernment also helps to distinguish truth from lies.

My goal is to present spiritual , cultural and political topics from a Christian point of view. This is not the place to be if you think Christians need to show how nice and inoffensive they are.

Truth is the focus. Not subjective truth that everyone believes they possess in this day and age, but truth measured with the word of God.

America is in a weakened state, because corruption is running rampant. None of our institutions have resisted this onslaught. This is because the country has turned from God.

What America needs is revival. We need to return to God.

Secondarily, Americans need to learn their founding documents, specifically, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. The former document declares that our rights come from God and not from man. The latter document describes our system of limited federal government where most of the power resides in the people and the individual states.

For far too long, people have farmed out the responsibility of their freedom to others. Recent events over the past two years have begun to jar people awake to the spiritual state of our nation.

It is my hope that this blog will aid in the effort of opening more Americans’ eyes.

Keep your eyes on Jesus

I am at the point where my well of outrage is empty.

After a certain point how angry can you get about the latest government example of either not enforcing laws , creating a new morality or turning the law against law abiding citizens who happen to be Christian and or conservative? I don’t know about you but my peak anger was reached after the 2022 midterms.

It’s pretty obvious our system of elections are corrupted. The scoundrels in charge don’t even hide their chicanery anymore.

The situation is not helped by certain judges who refuse to hear the serious merits of the lawsuits brought about by conservative candidates or by “journalists” who refuse to look into allegations of election misconduct.

We also have blatantly unconstitutional laws in effect such as the recent law in California prohibiting doctors from spreading “misinformation” about Covid -19 and vaccines under penalty of losing their medical license.

And speaking of the vaccines , where are the enterprising investigative reporters looking into the rash young athletes suddenly dropping dead or suffering sudden deleterious signs and symptoms out of nowhere? This phenomena has only been happening in the last two years. Hmm… could this be connected to the Covid vaccines? Maybe, maybe not, but why is no one investigating the situation to at least definitively show that the shots are truly “safe and effective” as advertised?

I look at what’s going on and the effort by people to pretend not to know things and I have to admit it is quite exasperating. Perhaps you have also gotten to the point where you feel tuning out is your best recourse to maintain your sanity.

Americans are losing faith in their government and in institutions that were once revered such as law enforcement , the judiciary and medicine. This is a serious situation because these institutions are matching the lack of trust citizens have in the federal government.

So where do we turn and whom do we turn to ? We can’t run because America is the last bastion of freedom for the world . We must also be guarded in our trust of politicians since many are bought and paid for by entities who either view the American people as an annoyance or want to subjugate us.

Looking around at the rampant lawlessness and disregard for traditional morals can easily make one hopeless. However, as Christians our hope is not in some politician, political party or even a judicial ruling.

No. Our hope is in one person and one person alone: Jesus.

For good reason Jesus said ” I am the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). ” He said so because it is the truth.

And speaking of truth, it is what is sorely lacking in our current society. We are lied to about everything. We’re told there are multiple agendas, we’re told science trumps the Bible; we’re told marriage between a man and woman is not important; we’re told that climate change is an existential threat and we’re told minor laws such as jaywalking or shoplifting aren’t worth enforcing.

Christian , God has revealed to you the effects of a society that chooses to reject God and the Son. You are witnessing the literal madness and lawlessness that is associated with this decision.

America is mired in darkness as a result. Why did Jesus call himself the light of the world (John 8:12) ? Easy, the world is in darkness (Isaiah 60:2). Why is the world in darkness? The world is in darkness because Satan rules those who are not in Christ (1 John 5:19, John 8:44). Satan’s kingdom is darkness full of lies, murder, lust, sensuality, envy, anger, hatred, jealousy, covetousness, fornication, adultery, thievery, slander and idolatry, just to name a few examples.

Instead of emphasizing the Gospel and the morals attached to it, American culture embraces woke politics. Instead of teaching love thy neighbor, what is taught is love thyself. Instead of promoting humility, pop culture preaches pride.

These are the bitter fruits that come from turning from Christ to the false gospel of the flesh. We are in times where good is called evil and evil is called good and that should cause us to shudder.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. –Isaiah 5:20 (New International Version)

Woe is more than just an expression of a feeling , in this use in the Bible it is an expression of judgement. We are witnessing the consequences of knowing God, but not acknowledging the Son, Jesus, though the arrogant and futile thoughts and policies of those who claim to know what is best. It can be strongly argued that America and most of Western Civilization is living out Romans 1:

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.— Romans 1:24-32 (NIV)

When God gives you over to something, it is because you worship that object ( be it a political philosophy, alcohol, drugs, pornography, occult ic practices, fornication, adultery or homosexuality) more than the Heavenly Father. His love for us may sometimes allow for bitter discipline that comes from the consequences of pursing sin. These consequences will either bring us back to the Father, through Jesus, giving us life, or we will harden our hearts and embrace the world, and the devil, resulting in death.

Picture yourself in extreme darkness. I am talking no streetlights, no moonlight, no ambient light. We’re talking darkness that is so black that you do not even see your hands in front of your face. How do you even walk in such heavy darkness, much less see your path? Now picture a light in the distance giving you a faint glimmer of your path and surroundings. Most people would go to the light unless they are hiding from something they fear.

This is America right now… mired in darkness. As Christians it is vitally important to keep our eyes on Jesus.

We need to make sure we reflect His light and not the darkness of the culture.

Our lights grow brighter when we pray, study and (if God places it on your heart) fast. We become more spiritually luminescent as we draw closer to the Father , Son and the Holy Sprit and stand uncompromising in our faith.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.–Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV)

Do not look to the left or the right. In other words, do not despair over the latest outrageous headline about corrupt politicians enabling lawlessness through irresponsible legislation. Don’t worry over the state of our economy. Don’t worry about Covid. What does worry change? Nothing. Neither does anger and outrage have any effect except for disrupting your health and peace.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Take heart, we are not powerless. We possess the most powerful weapon in the world, prayer and we have a Heavenly Father who promises to answer our prayers according to His perfect will. All we have to do is keep our eyes on Jesus and the Almighty God will do the rest.

The Disconnect Between Conservatives and Liberals

When golfing with some friends recently I had moment of sharp clarity. Once I explain my eureka moment , I am pretty sure you will agree.

But first, a little about my group. This particular day there were two conservatives, myself and another gentleman, and two liberals. As we were preparing to tee off on hole #3, my fellow conservative and I were discussing this stupid and arbitrary mask mandate in California and how this particular golf course wanted players to wear a mask throughout the entire round, rather than the clubhouse, because of our dictatorial governor’s “safer at home” diktats.

We also noted how everything in this whole Wuhan Virus “crisis”, from the lockdowns and mask mandates reek of communism. We both noted the silence from the other two in our group and that was when discernment opened my eyes to a crucial difference between conservatives and liberals.

Do you ever notice that liberals never speak of communism? Every conservative I know compares the lockdowns with tactics used in communist countries. But I have yet to hear a similar observation from any liberals I associate with at work or in this case,the golf course.

I have noted past conversations with liberals, before this whole virus nightmare began, that the subject of communism was always greeted with a look of puzzlement like “you’re one of those conspiracy nuts” and a dismissive tone. If my left leaning golf buddies are any indication, that cognative dissonance has not changed.

Liberals seem to have no problems state and local governments weaponizing the virus to marginalize the Christian church,restrict freedom of association , and most importantly, restrict freedom of speech. These assaults on basic constitutions rights are communist tactics. But our liberal countrymen don’t appear to see it that way.

They see these usurpations of freedom as simply political leaders doing all they can to keep us safe. In the early days of the virus, I could understand the temporary restrictions because of the newness of the outbreak and the not knowing. But we know more about the virus now and how to treat it. What conservatives question is the destruction of livelihoods, keeping kids (who have the lowest chance of contracting the virus) out of school and keeping churches from gathering (while giving a pass to protestors and rioters) as the means from stopping the spread.

Meanwhile, liberals disparage conservatives for daring to put freedom above safety. Instead of considering conservatives’ warnings of government totalitariansm they would rather rat them out for not wearing a facemask. I find it ironic that our liberal friends fail to see the irony that snitching on fellow neighbors is also emblematic of communist countries.

Liberals do not speak of communism because it is not reported in the news which is gospel to them. All we can do as patriotic Americans is to continue to sound the alarm and hope they get it before a boot on their face makes it frighteningly clear.

No grace from Los Angeles County

After losing a series of court cases designed to stop indoor services at Grace Community Church due to the Wuhan virus. The County of Los Angeles has decided to take a more vindictive approach. The county recently notified the church that it will be evicted from the parking lot that it had leased for 45 years.

 Grace Community Church has been given until October 1 to surrender the portion of land that houses the lot.  This, after the church had won a victory in Los Angeles County Superior Court that allowed it to hold in-person church services during the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic. 

The county issued a letter warning that if Grace Community Church fails to comply with the eviction, “the District may enter the premises and remove Grace’s personal property in accordance with the Agreement and applicable law, and Grace will be responsible for any resultant expenses incurred by the District.”

Jenna Ellis, of the Thomas More Society, called the move by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works retaliation for the church daring to pushback against the statewide ban on indoor church worship services.

“Los Angeles County is retaliating against Grace Community Church for simply exercising their constitutionally protected right to hold church and challenging an unreasonable, unlawful health order,” Ellis said. 

“In America, we have a judicial system to ensure that the executive branch does not abuse its power, and Grace Community Church has every right to be heard without fear of reprisal. The Democrats’ message to Americans is clear—if you don’t bow to every whim of tyranny, the government will come after you. The Church has peacefully held this lease for 45 years and the only reason the County is attempting eviction is because (Pastor) John MacArthur stood up to their unconstitutional power grab. This is harassment, abusive, and unconscionable.”

What is going on here is actually a shot across the bow to other churches: stand up to the government and it will find ways to make your life miserable. So much for the First Amendment rights to the free exercise of religion and to peaceably assemble. That is apparently trumped by the government keeping you safe from the Wuhan virus.  How ironic when you consider these state and county governments, who claim to have your safety in mind, have released violent criminals from jail also because of Covid.  Consider as well that many of these blue state governments want to punitively defund the police.  Finally, these same political hacks are obsessed with cracking down on our lives, yet do not lift a finger to control the rampant homelessness problem in cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco in which pestilence is a very real danger to surrounding communities.

Democrats at all levels of government are naturally full of hubris.  However, as more ordinary Americans challenge their arbitrary dictates their arrogance is transforming into reckless desperation.

Pray that Grace Community Church will win this skirmish and will find a way around this setback for their parishioners. God will be glorified in the midst of this spiritual battle. This will happen because Pastor MacArthur and thousands of Christians are prayerfully seeking God for redress now that the County of Los Angeles has failed in this regard.

The Name is Christian , not doormat

Too many Christians are content to be a doormat for the world. Christianity is not an excuse for anyone to remain passive and non-judgmental regarding right and wrong and good and evil.

Unbelievers love to throw Matthew 7:1-2 in Christians’ faces to shame them.:

“Judge not, that you be not judged. “ (New King James Bible)

Bu was Jesus telling us not to ever judge? Many people , including Christians, take this verse out of context, assuming that it is not up to us to judge the actions of others.

Jesus says nothing of the sort. When you read further into the chapter you find this in verses 3-5:

“And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother,’Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

Clearly , Jesus is not restricting us from making judgments. However, He is telling us to first take care of our own sin before judging another’s sin.And if you needed further proof that Jesus is in fact telling us to judge, examine Matthew 7:6:

“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”

Discerning just who are dogs and swine obviously requires judgment for that determination. Our Lord and Savior is teaching us that we don’t just share the Gospel willy nilly to just anyone. For instance sharing the Gospel in the middle of Satanic ritual or to a group of anarchists in the midst of a riot is bad judgment. Even Jesus was silent before His accusers during the night of a His arrest and later crucifixion.

When Jesus told us not to judge this was a warning not to be excessively critical and eager to point out the faults of others. Jesus is not telling us not to judge good and evil. If this were so , why would the God tell us to hate evil?

You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of His saints;
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.–Psalm 97:10 (NKJV)

If we were not to judge, as the world is so quick to tell Christians, how can we discern truth versus deception? We can do so because we judge by the discernment given to us by God through the Holy Spirit. However, while we are to judge, our role is not condemnation. God tells to love our enemies for a reason: we were once enemies of God because of our sin. We can never forget that and we must remember that only God can make a final judgment on a person. That role is not for us as believers.

We can only stand in the truth of God because to stand in the truth of man is foolishness. The world hates the truth of God preferring , instead, to create its own reality: a reality comprised of lies and deception.

This only makes sense because to deny the truth of God is to lie to yourself. If you deny this basic truth in the face of all of creation speaking of God, then lies will corrupt every fiber of your being. We are seeing the fruits of this in the corruption of every institution that has provided the guardrails of our society. Look around. From marriage, to law, to education , to science and even to the Christian church, secularism in the form of politics has corrupted everything.

The truth of contemporary America and of Western Civilization is that lies have become the foundation of politics, philosophy and even morality. People have believed the lies that they are good people because they care for the environment, condemn racism and stand for social justice. They have been led to believe by the arbiters of pop culture that these are three of the biggest problems facing the world. Talk about deception of the highest order.

Yet, many churches have also bought into this deception. They have chosen to acquiesce to a culture that rejects truth instead of standing on the truth of the Bible and making a right judgment. This happens because too many Christians are preoccupied with disproving a negative that the world accuses them of (i.e. bigotry of homosexuals or being against a woman’s right to a abortion). This stems primarily from Christians having a fear of man rather than a fear of God.

Fear of man deludes Christians to prostrate themselves for cultural approval rather than standing for Godly Truth no matter who is offended . The truth is Jesus offends the culture. The Bible offends the culture and truth be told, even God offends the culture. And guess what? If you follow Jesus you should be offending the culture. If you are not, then a stark personal assessment is needed.

Yes we are to love our enemies, but we are to hate evil. Yes we are to render unto Caesar, but we are also to worship the Lord our God even when government commands us not to do so. We obey government but not at the cost of fellowship and worship.

The Christian Church is tasked with the mission of sharing the Gospel of the life, death , resurrection and return of Christ and that alone (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15-16; Acts1:8; Romans10:12-15). We are not called to validate sin or pervert the Word of God in the pursuit of riches.

Love is shown by speaking the truth, while appeasement is staying silent. Our current culture is a consequence of the too many churches choosing to remain silent about the rot infecting it because of a wrong belief about rightful judgment Time to reject the passive role of doormat to the culture and instead dedicate our selves to leading people the doorway of Jesus as as Lord and Savior.
